I’m at the Apple Store in San Francisco listening to Scott Camera Smith (who works for Lucasfilm) describe his experience making “Less” -a 20 min. short film short- entirely for a few thousand dollars.

Some highlights of what he said:

• Tried Adobe After Effects but went with LiveType for titles. Extremely easy.
• Shake for compositing (took 15 min. for eye reflection visual effect, 1 hr. for car slam break.)
• Saw iMovie being used on the set of Episode II. Whoa!

Definitely inspiring. It made me fire up my copy of FCP as soon as I got home. Maybe I should pick up the footage that is sitting around the house and do something with it.
